Afrikat Catamaran Trip

Boat trips in Gran Canaria are something that appeals to all ages. You can choose from fishing trips, dolphin-watching trips, glass-bottom boat trips or even a wonderful catamaran cruise. One of the most popular boat trips in Gran Canaria is the Afrikat.

This beautiful catamaran holds a maximum of 35 passengers and it leaves from Puerto Base, one of the harbours in Puerto Rico, to whisk you off on a day trip along the Canarian coastline, including the scenic Mogan coast and El Perchel, a beautiful clear bay where you can swim, snorkel or try another watersport.

The Afrikat also has a speedboat and you can take a trip to the sea caves. Sometimes you can spot dolphins, turtles or flying fish on the trip so bring your camera.

Traditional mojo potatoes (a Canarian cooking specialty), satay meatballs, salads and bread rolls are served at lunchtime by the friendly crew, and you can also quench your thirst with soft drinks, beer, water or sangria.

How Long is It?

The cruise lasts for 5 hours and you have the choice of the 10am until 3pm trip or the sunset trip, which is from 3.30pm until 8.30pm. There is also a sunset excursion including a stop in Puerto Mogan where you can wander around (this is subject to availability).

How Much is It?

Including transport from your hotel, the price for a cruise on the Afrikat is 48 euros for adults and 30 euros for children.

What to Bring

Bring swimwear, a towel, a camera, sunglasses, something with long sleeves (during the cooler months) and sun cream. The food, drink and most of the activities are included in the price, although some of the optional watersports are extra, so bring some euros with you if you might fancy doing any of those.

How to Book

Call Potter or Wendie on 0034 637564679 to book or if you have any questions about the trip, or you can have a look at Afrikat.com for more information. Because the boat has a maximum capacity of just 35, it is best to reserve your place in advance, especially during peak season. If you are interested in holding a wedding, stag, hen or private birthday party on board, this is also possibility.
