On 4th May there is a fashion show, as well as “Pink Night” and “Street Entertainment Night” in the Yumbo. The winner of Mr Gay Gran Canaria 2009 opens the pool party at the Las Walkirias Hotel. Guests staying at the Walkirias Hotel Gran Canaria can get half price entry to the pool party.

On 6th May, Ricky’s Cabaret Bar is sponsoring a Blue Event at the same hotel and there is a Lesbian Disco Night in the Yumbo Centre. There is a lesbian pool party at the Las Walkirias Hotel the following day, as well as the Drag Gala Competition, which is sponsored in 2010 by Sparkles Show Bar.

Saturday 8th May is the big street parade – the World Record Dragathon street party. This involves a massive parade in the afternoon and then a big stage show at the Yumbo. Entry to the Yumbo Centre is free for this but get there early so you can get a good spot. The last day is 9th May and there is the closing party and Chill Pill recovery party on that day.

    Hi Sam,

The Gay Pride parade is a free event. You just find a spot on the side of the street and watch the floats coming past.

There are lots of places open to get a bit to eat and many of the bars have terraces so you can get refreshments.

The shows in the evening in the Yumbo centre are also free but turn up early for a good place to watch from. If you want to go to one of the clubs later on you might have to pay entry but most of the festivities are gratis :-)

    Enjoy yourself!

    Victoria
