The Maspalomas Carnival, also spelt Maspalomas Carnaval (in Spanish!), is set to take place from 11th to 21st March 2010 and it has a Eurovision Song Contest theme this year. The carnival features singing, dancing, competitions and parades.

The Las Palmas Carnival might be the second largest carnival in the world, after Brazil, but the Maspalomas Carnival is a lot of fun too and if you are staying in Playa del Ingles or Maspalomas during the middle of March, there will be plenty to see and do.

im looking to see if anyone can tell me what saturday in march 2012 that the street carnival is on in playa del ingles, i usually stay in the neptuno hotel and would really like to get it all booked,

The carnaval is on from 25th February until 4th March inclusive so it looks like it will be on 3rd March. It still isn’t listed on the official Carnaval 2012 website though

According to the government site – http://www.maspalomas.com/component/content/article/127-prensa-notas/584-nota-de-prensa-carnaval-internacional-de-maspalomas.html – the Carnaval 2012 in Maspalomas is going to be from Feb 25 until March 4, but don’t blame me if they change it again
