This fiesta takes place every August and thousands of Canarians come to Lomo Magullo, which is in Telde, to take part in this street water fight. The tradition is known as water-fetching (“traída de agua” in Spanish) and it dates back to the 1970 when the Canarians would search for water to use on their crops.
August is the hottest month of the year so it’s actually quite refreshing to take part in this event!
You need to get bus number 90 from Faro de Maspalomas to Telde. It costs 5.85€ one way. This is the bus timetable: http://www.globalsu.net/es/pdf/linea90.pdf
