One of the most fun things you can do in Gran Canaria this year has to be the jeep safari, especially if you’re looking for something a bit different to the dolphin trips, fishing trips and shopping that most tourists go for.
Not that there is anything wrong with those activities of course, but if you’re looking for something a bit different which lets you see otherwise hidden and inaccessible parts of Gran Canaria, this trip is the one to go for. It’s suitable for singles, couples, groups or families.
The mountain tracks a 4 by 4 jeep can go over aren’t accessible by other kinds of transport so you will get to see all kinds of places you would otherwise miss out on, including lakes (bring your swimming costume!), rock formations, cave villages, stunning landscapes and more.
This brilliant jeep safari comes with lunch, a drink, a half an hour camel ride in Fataga, and a local guide who speaks English. There are usually a number of jeeps all in a row. Make sure you bring water, sun cream (high factor – it gets hot in the mountains), a swimsuit and towel, and sunglasses. It’s also a good idea to bring a camera (and have it on the speed-shot or sport-shot setting so you don’t get blurry pictures).
