This public holiday marks the start of the Christmas celebrations and it is celebrated all over Spain, as well as the Canary Islands. Commercially speaking, Christmas starts in October or November when the lights go up in the main streets and the shops start stocking up on Christmas gifts and cards… but then that’s the same everywhere now!
